SEFAAS produces biomass pellets from forestry thinnings and harvest residues. The pellet as a fuel reduces CO2 pollution by hundreds of kilograms for every tonne used as a fossil fuel substitute.
Annually, millions of tonnes of bio-mass are produced in Australia, however, there was no large-scale commercial operation capable of using this feedstock. The SEFAAS business will produce greater than 500,000 tonnes of renewable pellets from each site with up to 6 sites identified.
